Busanpo Japanese Fortress, where the first battle took place during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592

Busanpo Japanese Fortress overlooking Busan Port is located in Jeungsan Park, about 130 meters above sea level, overlooking Japan’s Daemado Island beyond Busan Port.

In the 15th century, there was a fortress called Busanjinseong Fortress in the Joseon Dynasty to defend against Japanese invasion. On April 13, 1592, the first Japanese army landed in Busan, Yukinaga Konishi and Muneishitomo, and Mori Terumoto built the fortress for about five months from March to August 1593.

From the beginning of the war to the time of Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s death in 1598, it was used as a castle in Busan, where war supplies were sent from Tsushima Island, Japan, for six years.

In addition, you can see Jaseongdae Park, which is the fortress of Busanpo Japanese Fortress, about 1km toward the east sea, and it is said that there was a small Japanese fortress in front Yeongdo, but now it is a city area, so you can’t see the site.

Currently, there is Jeungsan Park, which has sports equipment for citizens, on the stone wall of Ninomaru in the east, Dong-gu Library on the north slope, residential area, and apartments in the south.

When you park your vehicle in the parking lot of the Dong-gu Library and walk into the park, you can see the dwarf stone wall.

The Honmaru at the top of the mountain is built as Jeungsan Sports Park, and there is a small three-story model Cheonsugak Pavilion.

There is an old apartment built on the stone wall.

In the case of vehicles, you can directly travel to the Higashi-ku library in Ninomaru, but if you use the Busan Subway Line 1, you can enjoy the traces of the castle while climbing the hill or stairs.
