Dongnaeeupseong Fortress

On June 26, 1972, Dongnaeupseong was designated as Busan Metropolitan City Monument No. Dongnaeupseong Fortress, which has a circumference of 1.9km, is a typical Pyeongsanseong Fortress, including a hilly area from the mountain behind Chungnyeolsa Temple through Maansan Mountain to the mountain behind Dongnaehyanggyo Bridge, and a part of the flat area from the current Dongnae center to Dongrae Market. It can be said that it is a representative fortress in Korea with the advantages of a fortress and flat land.

When the Imjin War broke out on April 13, 1592, it became the first target of the Japanese attack, which landed in Busan along with Busanjinseong Fortress. Dongraeupseong Fortress, which is known to have been first built during the Three Kingdoms period, was rebuilt from the end of Goryeo to the early Joseon Dynasty and was neglected after the Japanese Invasion of Imjin. At that time, there were facilities such as four gates: east gate, west gate, south gate, and north gate, but during the Japanese colonial period, the flat fortress was demolished, and the remaining part of the fortress wall and the north gate, Saengmun, Dongjangdae, Seojangdae, and Bukjangdae were restored. is reaching.

「Life Gate」、The name of Life Gate was given because many people who escaped through this castle gate survived the Japanese invasion.

And the Dongnaeupseong History Museum, which opened in March 2007, exhibits materials about the Dongnaeupseong Fortress and the Dongnaeupseong Fortress, centering on the model of the Dongnaeupseong Fortress installed in Dongnae-gu. The Dongnae-eupseong History Festival is held in early October every year.

Near the north gate of Dongnaeupseong Fortress, there is a lawn plaza where various events can be held, a science statue of Jang Yeongsil, the greatest inventor of Joseon, and a monument for the construction of Naejuseong of the Joseon Dynasty that says that Dongnaeupseong was greatly expanded in 1731 and a commemorative photo shooting site.
