Gyeongju Yaksu Valley Standing Rock-carved Buddha

At the western foot of Geumosan Mountain (468m) in Gyeongju, there is the largest Rock-carved Buddha statue in Namsan Mountain, Gyeongju.

The head of the 8.6-meter-high Buddha statue in Yaksu Valley has disappeared, but the surface of the rock on both sides of the huge square is carved more than 30 centimeters thick to express the heavy Buddha. In addition, the hands and hem were carved in relief about 10 centimeters, and the left hand was bent, attached to the chest, and the right hand was lowered to the waist, touching the thumb, middle finger, and ring finger of both hands lightly.

The characteristic of the Maaebul in Yaksu Valley is that the clothes between the vertically flowing hem of the clothes are lined up in several parallel lines in a slightly semicircular shape. You can only see this kind of wrinkle representation here in the Rock-carved Buddha.
