Yeosu City– category –
Yeosu-City, which has a beautiful sea view, is a port city where historical sites of the Imjin War remain everywhere, as it is said to be Naples of Korea, located about three hours by car to the west of Busan.
In particular, there are historic sites such as Jinhaeru, which was used by Admiral Yi Sun-shin as the home of Left Naval Headquarters in Jeolla Province, Jinnamgwan, which was destroyed during the war with the Japanese army and rebuilt as a 75-week guesthouse in 1599, and Gulgang, then a shipyard for the Turtle Ship. Odongdo Island, which is connected by a 768m long bridge (breakwater function) made during the Japanese colonial period, is a symbolic place in Yeosu-si, which is popular as the largest camellia colony in Korea.
There are tourist attractions such as the 2,260-meter-long Yi Sun-shin Bridge connecting Gwangyang-si and Yeosu-si, Jeolla-do, which were opened in time for the 2012 Yeosu World Expo.
