Wando-gun is located in the southernmost tip of the Korean Peninsula at the southernmost tip of Jeollanam-do. There are three eups and nine myeons, including Wando-eup, the location of the county office, and Wando is in the center of Dadohae Marine National Park. There are 54 islands where residents live and 201 beautiful islands of 146 uninhabited islands scattered. The 839km long coastline is rich in abalone, seaweed, seaweed, and kelp.
