Uljin-gun, located in the northeast of Gyeongsangbuk-do, borders Samcheok-si and Taebaek-si in Gangwon-do to the north, Bonghwa-gun and Yeongyang-gun in Gyeongsangbuk-do to the west, and Yeongdeok-gun in Gyeongsangbuk-do to the south.
Representative tourist attractions include Bulyeongsa Valley (Myeongseung No. 6), which stretches 15km, and Seongnyugul Cave, which is estimated to have been created 250 million years ago south of downtown Uljin. The main cave is about 330 meters long, and a small cave extending in all directions reaches 540 meters. About 270 meters of all caves are open to the public.
Mangyangjeong Pavilion and Wolsongjeong Pavilion, which are considered the eight scenic spots of Gwandong on the east coast of Daegwallyeong, are located in Uljin-gun, and other eight scenic spots in Gwandong include Gangneung Gyeongpodae, Goseong Samilpo, Samcheok Jukseoru, and Yangyang Naksansa Temple.
In addition, there are famous hot springs in Korea, Deokgu Hot Springs and Baekam Hot Springs, and the World Eco-Friendly Agricultural Expo was held twice in 2005 and 2009, and Expo Park is located in Susan-ri, Geunnam-myeon, Uljin-gun.
Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, is Korea's representative nuclear power plant and has abundant marine products, including Uljin snow crabs, centering on Hupo Port and Jukbyeon Port.
