Songsanhyeon Square, completed in June 2014, is an urban park built on a 34,740m 부 site from Seomyeon Bujeon Subway Station toward Busan City Hall. There are three regions: Cultural Madang, Dynamic Busan Madang, and History Madang, and Cultural Madang is a performance and event space with outdoor parks and cafes. Dynamic Busan Madang has a large lawn plaza and is used as a venue for street cheering and various festivals.
The History Madang has a floor fountain, a forest of history, and a memorial square for the statue of Song Sang-hyun, who died after refusing to surrender to Japanese general Yukinaga Konishi, saying, “It is easy to die, but difficult to lend directions.”
