Iljumun Gate of Woljeongsa Temple in Odaesan National Park (Sanmun)
Located in the southeast valley of Odaesan National Park, 1,563m above sea level in northern Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do, Woljeongsa Temple was founded in 643 during the reign of Queen Seondeok of Silla.
It is connected by a nature-rich cedar forest path that runs about 1km from Iljumun Gate (Sanmun) to the main hall, and when you enter the temple grounds, you will find the Palgakgu Stone Pagoda, National Treasure No. 48 made in front of Jeokgwangjeon Hall. The nearby Seongbo Museum displays important Buddhist cultural properties such as the Seated Stone Bodhisattva (Yakwangbojiru), Treasure No. 139 of the Goryeo Dynasty.
