Donggung and Wolji (Anapji)

Wolji, adjacent to the northeast of Wolseong, the royal palace of Silla, is said to have been built as a palace to celebrate the unification of the three kingdoms by excavating rare animal bones, various relics influenced by the Chinese Party, and a 14-sided dice.

Wolji, also known as Anapji because geese and ducks flew in a ruined pond during the Joseon Dynasty, is 200 meters long from east to west and 200 meters long from north to south, with a total area of 5,000 square meters. In addition, there are three islands of different sizes in the pond, and the annexes of the past were restored, including the Byeolgung Imhaejeon Hall (Historic Site No. 18), where only the building site remained.

The Gyeongju National Museum’s Wolji Hall near Wolji displays 700 valuable artifacts excavated from Wolji, including living containers used in the palace at the time, models of Wolji, and wooden boats, so visit the Wolji Hall of the Gyeongju National Museum after visiting Wolji.
